“June is bustin’ out all over” sings the cast of the 1950s Rogers and Hammerstein hit musical, “Carousel”, and that certainly appears to be the case here in Salem in 2018! As the new summer season comes closer, we’re taking a closer look at some of our favorite local events happening this June! Salem Carousel’s 17th Birthday Celebration, June 2nd, 2018

Historic Elsinore Theatre Tour
Named after 16th-century Danish castle in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the Elsinore Theatre opened in 1926 and is considered to be one of the cultural gems of our city. The theatre will present a variety of entertainment options this summer including dance shows, jazz musician Brian Culbertson, Ann Wilson of Heart, LeAnn Rimes, Los Lonely Boys and more. Tour the theatre to learn its rich history and experience the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. The theatre will host tours at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays during the months of July and August. On Your Feet Friday (OYFF) is a community and family-oriented series of events happening on the 2nd Friday of each month through September. People of all ages are encouraged to walk or run on sidewalks and through parks in and around downtown Salem. WillaMutt Strutt, June 10th
Willamette Humane Society is hosting its annual WillaMutt Strut—presented by the Marble Center—on June 10, 2018, to benefit adoptable cats and dogs.Take part in the full 5K (run and walk) or The Strut, a shorter (less than 1K) walk, and then join us for food, brews, music, dog training demonstrations, and more.
