Beginning today, Friday August 26th through September 5th, the 'Too Big to Miss' Oregon State Fair will be right down the road from us at the Fairgrounds! There will be more than just rides and cotton candy (although they will also be present). We encourage you to check out Pairings sponsored by Bentley's Grill and the Grand Hotel Salem, at the Hart of the Garden at the fairgrounds from 5-9pm on Friday. The event will feature wine tasting, cuisine prepared by chefs from around the region, and music by Patrick Lamb. The cost is $50, which includes food, drink, and complimentary wine glass, as well as admission to the fair. But the music and the fun doesn't end on Friday. Concerts by Cheap Trick (Saturday, 8/27), Sessionfest, featuring Ozomatli and Kenny Wayne Shephard (Thurday 9/1), The Band Perry (Friday, 9/2), The Judds (Saturday 9/3) and Selena Gomez (Monday 9/5) all include fair admission and round out a full 10 days of entertainment! If its non-musical entertainment you're looking for, check out the Stihl Timbersports Series that takes place 8/26-8/28 from 12-7pm. ESPN will be on hand to see lumberjacks display their skills in their sport's various disciplines (springboard chop anyone?). In addition, Circo Viaggio will be performing every day at 2pm and 7:30pm. And there are of course the random events that are truly unique to the Oregon State Fair: Crazy Animal Races, Foster Farms First Annual Chicken Chili Cookoff, Outdoor Bowling, and the Lego Spinjitzu Mobile Tour.
