Director of Sales & Marketing: Donna Earley, Head Chef: Tory Knaus, Sales Catering Manager: Sarah Utterback and Director of Catering: Theresa Greco are all smiles at the 2014 Oregon Business Magazine's 100 Best Green Companies Celebration Luncheon There's a saying that goes 'great things come in 3s', and that is certainly the case with this piece of news! The Salem Convention Center is on the Oregon Business Magazine's 100 Best Green Companies list for the THIRD consecutive year! 'Our sixth annual 100 Best Green Workplaces survey shows just how important employees rate sustainable practices. Recycling, energy conservation and buying local are just a few of the policies employees want to see in their workplace. The best green companies and nonprofits are acting on these preferences, offering bonuses for biking and taking public transport; recycling and composting; and cutting energy use.' -From Oregon Business Magazine The list is based on the ever-popular 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon project and determined by an anonymous employee survey and an independent assessment of the employers' sustainability practices. 'We are honored to be recognized for our sustainability practices for 3 consecutive years,' says Chrissie Bertsch, General Manager of The Salem Convention Center. 'Our inclusion on the 100 Best Green Companies list demonstrates our ongoing commitment to green initiatives that include solar panels, low wattage florescent lighting, a comprehensive recycling program, water conservation and more.' The celebration luncheon was held at the Nines Hotel in Portland on May 28th. Donna Earley, Tory Knaus, Sarah Utterback and Theresa Greco attended the event to represent our company. The 100 Best Green Companies are featured in the June 2014 issue of Oregon Business magazine. Click here for a full list of the 100 winners.
