It's baaaaaack! Everyone's favorite 3-on-3 basketball event, the Oregon National Guard Hoopla, is back in downtown Salem for it's 16th year August 2-3, 2014! What makes this event so unique? Not only is it one of Oregon's most prestigious family-friendly sporting events, Hoopla generates thousands of dollars for local charities annually. To date, Hoopla has generated more than $350,000 in support for worthy nonprofit groups. Most of these funds are given to organizations that focus on youth athletic or activity programs in the Salem-Keizer, Oregon area. In addition, Oregon National Guard Hoopla is almost an entirely volunteer-driven organization; literally hundreds of volunteers put in thousands of hours to stage Oregon's largest and premier 3-on-3 basketball event. Special events this year include The Hoopla Family Fun Run - a 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Salem's Riverfront Park to benefit the Liberty House Child Abuse Assessment Center.
