That's why we're so happy that the River Rock Wednesday Evening Concert Series will be back in Downtown Salem Wednesday nights in July at Salem's Riverfront Park (just a short walk from The Salem Convention Center). The concert series is one of the local highlights of the summer and kicks off Wednesday July 13th with Uncle Kracker, followed by The Junebugs on July 20th and wrapping up on July 27th with a performance by St. Lucia. “It's cool for Salem to have something like this, for adults to get out in the middle of the week and do something outside with the family on a summer night,” Brant Minor of Northwest Events & Marketing said to The Statesman Journal last month. '“All three acts are going to make the park feel alive>' 'It's really about trying to get the best acts for Salem,' event organizer Tom Fohn told the Statesman Journal. 'I am passionate about helping to make Salem a place people want to live. I think it would be cool if my kids wanted to come back to Salem because there is so much happening here.' Plan a date night or being the whole family! Children under 10 are free with an adult. Here's what else you need to know: Ticket prices vary per show, from $10-$25 plus handling. You can also buy season tickets for $39.00 plus handling and save! Tickets available at the gate for $5 more, if the show is not sold out. The concerts are festival seating so get there early if you want to sit closer to the stage. Gates open at 5:30pm. Concert goers are allowed to bring low-level beach/lawn chairs (not exceeding 8 inches from the ground and no higher than 27 inches total from the ground to the top of the chair) and blankets. You can bring beverages in sealed plastic bottle (in compliance with Oregon Liquor Control Laws) and a picnic but there will be a variety of food and beverage available for sale at the event.
