Recently, Bicycling Magazine, the world's leading bike magazine, included Salem Oregon in their annual list of America's Top 50 Bike-Friendly Cities Salem, Oregon ranked #22 out of 50 American cities that 'possess both a robust cycling infrastructure and a vibrant bike culture.' To determine the most bike-friendly cities in America, Bicycling Magazine evaluated cities with populations of 95,000 or more, using data provided by the Alliance for Biking and Walking and the League of American Bicyclists, as well as input from local advocates and bike-ped coordinators.
